From time to time, the number of international schools in Indonesia is increasing and the demand for it continues to increase. Although the costs incurred are not small, in reality, the number of students is also increasing. Many people think that education in international schools is superior to making this school more desirable.

However, basically, every school must have its own advantages, both national and international schools. In addition, before choosing a national or international school, you should consider carefully, whether it is necessary to choose an international school or is it better to go to a national school. To find out what are the differences between the two, see the information.

Different National Schools and International Schools in Indonesia

1. Curriculum

The first very striking difference is in terms of curriculum. If national schools follow a curriculum based on the regulations of the Indonesian Ministry of Education, international schools use an international scale curriculum. These differences also have an impact on the teaching methods and subjects their students get.

However, despite the different curricula, students from international schools in Indonesia still have to take national exams that have been set by the government. So, they have to face two tests, namely the international exam and the national exam.

2. Language of instruction

In national schools, the language of instruction used is of course Indonesian, which is also a compulsory subject that must be mastered. This is different from international schools in Indonesia which use foreign languages as the language of instruction.

In general, the primary language of instruction used is English. However, there are also several schools that use languages of instruction other than English, namely Mandarin and German.

Children who do not yet have a basic foreign language may experience difficulties if they enter international schools. Apart from being difficult to accept lessons, they are also difficult to adapt. However, if they are able to use foreign languages from an early age, they will easily accept the model of education in this international school.

3. Number of Subjects

As you know, from ancient times until now, national schools teach many subjects. Students are required to master all subjects, at least at the minimum level of assessment.

Such conditions are not found in international schools in Indonesia. There are fewer subjects taught in this school, only subjects that are considered important to compete in the global world. This method will make students in international schools more proficient in some of these subjects.

However, international schools also still offer many other subjects that are not compulsory. Students can choose subjects according to what they like only.

4. School Facilities

International schools are generally private schools that are under foundations. So, in terms of facilities, it is very different from national schools. This school has a higher level of comfort, so it's no wonder the school fees are much higher than national schools.

Not only superior in terms of the comfort of the study room, the school library also has a more complete collection than libraries in national schools. However, not all national schools have limited books. Several national plus schools also have similar facilities.

Both national and international schools are options that you can consider. However, if you cannot afford to attend international schools, there is one kind of school that also has a different learning method from national schools in general, namely inclusive schools.

In this school, children are not required to master all subjects. Their learning focus is in accordance with their interests and talents. The advantage of including children in inclusive schools is that their talents will be well honed because schools provide opportunities for students to develop themselves. To better understand it, parents should look for complete information regarding this school.
